Scouts Australia NSW provides young Aussies aged 5 to 25 with fun and challenging opportunities to grow through adventure. With over 17,000 youth and adult members from various cultural and religious backgrounds and with varying abilities, Scouts is one of the largest and most successful youth organisations in the state.
Today’s Scouts can take part in an extraordinary variety of outdoor activities, from ‘traditional Scouting skills’ such as camping and bush craft, through to more extreme challenges such as abseiling, overnight hiking, rafting, canoeing, canyoning, snow activities, rock climbing, sailing and even flying! Scouts also have the opportunity to become involved in performing arts, leadership development, community service, amateur radio operation, environmental projects, large-scale Australian events such as Cuborees, Jamborees and Ventures, international events, and service projects in developing countries.
At Scouts Australia NSW, we put the needs of young people first. Our youth led, adult supported approach ensures our youth members are always at the forefront of our program and gives them the platform to take a constructive place in society as responsible citizens and as members of their local, national and international communities.

Child Health & Safety

Picture
Parents take the safety of their children seriously - and so do we. You want to be confident your children are in good hands every time you drop them off at your local Scout Hall or event. As Scouts NSW our aim is to create a safe and secure environment where every child understands they have a right to feel safe.
Scouts Australia NSW has a zero tolerance policy towards abuse of any kind.
It is important that every adult and child in Scouting in NSW is aware of and familiar with the NSW Child Protection Policy and Procedures and understand who they can approach and the appropriate steps to take, should any form of abuse be brought to their attention. Child Protection is our number one priority and is everyone’s responsibility.
At Scouts NSW:
  • All Leaders are thoroughly screened, undergo a NSW Police check, and must hold a valid, verified Working with Children check.
  • Adult Leaders receive comprehensive, ongoing training across a range of subjects including leadership, WHS, and child protection.
  • At least one person trained in first aid attends all major events.
  • At least two adults are present at all meetings and events.
  • We will liaise with you to ensure we have the information necessary to cater for your child's individual medical, physical and dietary requirements.
